Cable management specialist, Cablofil, has enhanced the design of its innovative Faslock couplers to provide a completely tool-free solution.
Designed to ensure that radius bends of Cablofil steel wire tray keep their shape once formed, the original Faslock system proved popular as it was so simple to use and helped to speed up complex installations. The improved version no longer requires the installer to bend fasteners on the coupler around the steel wire tray with pliers to secure the Faslock unit in place: thanks to a clever design innovation, the installer simply clicks the new ‘Faslock 2’ in place to create a secure coupling without the use of any tools.
Explains UK managing director of Cablofil, Paul Courson: “When a radius bend is formed, the steel wire tray will naturally try to unbend into a straight piece of tray again if it is not secured in place. Our design expertise has enabled us to create a Faslock coupler that actually works with this natural tendency and it is the tension created when the tray tries to spring back that locks the Faslock into place. The result is a coupling that is just as secure and robust as the original Faslock system with even quicker and easier tool-free installation.”
Cablofil’s attention to detail means that the new Faslock 2 enhances the whole Cablofil system.
In addition to updating the design, the company has also improved the quality of the Faslock which is now fabricated from electro-zinc plated steel rather than pre-galvanised steel and available in Dacromet (DC) finish for more corrosive environments. The smooth top edge of the fitting maintains the anti-snag qualities of the Cablofil system’s unique safety edge, protecting contractors and cables during installation and maintenance. If the contractor should make a mistake in positioning the Faslock 2 fitting during installation he can simply manipulate it out of position and re-use it.
Supplied in bags of 25 units, Faslock 2 couplers are available in two sizes suitable for Cablofil steel wire tray of up to 200mm and 300mm plus.
