Steve Newburn | Managing Director

Steve started his business career with MIDA as a mere child, now only a few years ago in 1987! Since then, Steve has listened carefully, absorbed all his many experiences, and grown within the group to become the leading man within this industry showcase.

Steve is very passionate about his job and the people who he likes to call friends.

When Steve is not trying to conquer the world with MIDA, he considers himself a very lucky family man, married, with two beautiful children. His childhood sporting pleasure is Aston Villa FC with whom there has unfortunately been a roller coaster of emotions. Steve is also a massive F1 fan!

Lon Westwood | Director

Lon was the original founder of MIDA having previously worked within the industry for 18 years prior. Although now semi-retired and removed from the day to day group activities, Lon remains very passionate about the new MIDA and very proud of its continual evolution.

With more time these days to enjoy the fruits of his labour, Lon enjoys reading, listening to classical music, and photography.

Liz Newburn | PA & Group Administration

Liz first joined the MIDA team in 2004 as PA to the Managing Director, but with a purpose to help support the small team and to assist in the development of the group's ambitions. Liz also plays a vital role in managing all aspects of the group's administration, taking particular ownership of the critical buying resource to members in our monthly bulletins.

Being Steve's sister, means that there is a family bond and an understanding of the business that really gels to provide a very personal, but professional service.

In Liz's spare time she enjoys music & cinema, going to live shows, be it comedy, music or theatre. Her favourite band of all time has to be Snow Patrol. Whereas she considers the best theatre show to be Phantom of the Opera.

Chris Barber | Accounts Administrator

Chris has been a long serving, dedicated member of the team, since seeing the light back in 1992. She has been central to all the early developments of the business, and once managed all aspects of general administration until 2003, before deciding to undertake a new chapter in her life with the start of her own family.

Now married, and a much loved mum of three, Chris's role within the company is to control management of all statistical affairs - turnover monitoring and rebate reporting/reconciliation for all members and suppliers.

In her spare time - Chris enjoys reading, listening to music, going to concerts and travel. Her favourite read was the Harry Potter Series, although she does enjoy autobiographies. With her interests in music, Chris’s favourite artists are Celine Dion & Michael Buble.
